Mr. Daniel Como

Daniel Como received his Bachelors in Psychology from SUNY Cortland in 1998 and soon after began his career in special education working for Nassau BOCES. In 2000 Mr. Como received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Dowling College, and in January of 2000 found his home at Carle Place MS/HS.

Mr. Como has coached for over 20 years both middle school soccer and track and field. Over 10 years ago Mr. Como created and began teaching a class called Responding to Medical Emergencies as a high school elective, and has personally certified hundreds of Carle Place students in CPR/AED as well as first aid and hemorrhage control.

Mr. Como received his Advanced Certificate in Administration from SUNY Stony Brook and worked several summers as an administrator in Carle Place UFSD ESY Program. In September of 2021 Mr. Como became the Chairperson of The Special Education Department at the Middle School/High School. This accomplishment remains the proudest moment of his career. Mr. Como is still coaching and remains an active volunteer in EMS.

Mr. Anthony DeBlasio

Anthony DeBlasio has proudly served the Carle Place School District as the District Director of Guidance since July 2019. Prior to Carle Place, Mr. DeBlasio started his educational career in the Hampton Bays School District as a school counselor. He then rose to the administrative ranks within Hampton Bays by serving as a tenured assistant principal for the next 12 years at both the high school and middle school levels. Mr. DeBlasio holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University, a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Long Island University, and a second Master’s Degree in School Administration from Stony Brook University.


Mr. DeBlasio truly believes that every child has the potential to succeed and has dedicated his professional career to provide all students the social and emotional support needed to achieve their dreams. His beliefs served him well as he was the first person in his family to attend and graduate from college. When not in the office, Mr. DeBlasio loves to spend time with his wife and daughter traveling, going to the beach, and playing golf. He fundamentally believes in lifelong learning with quantum physics being his latest obsession. Words to live by… “The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is”.

Mr. Michael Limone

Michael Limone is the District Director of Visual and Performing Arts here in Carle Place where he has directed both the middle school and the high school theater programs and teaches middle school and high school Theater Arts classes. Now in his 26th year of teaching, his career began in CT, where he taught for 11 years and served as the Vice President of the CT Drama Association and as the CT Representative on the New England Drama Council. He was a member of the founding committee that brought a Theater Certification to the State of CT. He’s brought original works to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland with his students on two separate occasions. In addition to his teaching career, Michael has continued acting and directing since college, where he majored in English and Acting at the University of Connecticut, Storrs campus. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Carriage House Players, a Shakespeare Company that performs at the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, NY, where he directs and performs in the summertime. The foundation of his Acting Training is based upon the Stanislavski Method and the training he received at both UCONN and HB Studios in NYC. Michael is a current Board Member of the New York State Theater Educators Association (NYSTEA), the Chairperson of the Theater Advocacy Committee for NY and the Co-Chairperson of the Long Island Region for NYSTEA.

Mrs. Leslie Rubenstein

Leslie Rubenstein joined the Carle Place faculty in 2002 as Chairperson of the Social Studies and World Languages Departments.  Prior to her work at Carle Place, Ms. Rubenstein taught for 9 years at Bryant H.S. in Astoria and for 3 years served as the Assistant Principal of Supervision of the Humanities at the High School for Arts and Business in Corona. Ms. Rubenstein received a BA in History from New York University and an MA in History from Columbia University. In addition to her work with her departments, Ms. Rubenstein has developed and implemented a wide variety of professional development opportunities for a broader audience of teachers including Vertical Alignment of Writing in Social Studies (K-12); Introduction to Inquiry Based Learning (K-12), Reading Non-Fiction in the Content Areas (5-10) and Mind Brain Education (K-12). Ms. Rubenstein is the recipient of the Empire State Excellence in Teaching Award and the Long Island Council of Social Studies, Harry C. Charles Outstanding Social Studies Supervisor/Chairperson Award. In June 2023, Mrs. Rubenstein became the District Director of Humanities.  Outside of work, Ms. Rubenstein enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, hiking and traveling.

Mr. Jamie San Filippo

Mr. San Filippo has a Registered Athletic Administrator certification from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Association. He comes to Carle Place with eighteen years of teaching experience in the Levittown School District and over twenty years of coaching within Section VIII athletics. Mr. San Filippo joined the Carle Place team in 2022 as the District Athletic Director. He has obtained his NYS School District Administrator Leader certification through the College of Saint Rose. Mr. San Filippo recognizes the unique opportunity that his role has within the district which combines Athletics', Physical Education, Health and Consumer Science having one shared vision. Mr. San Filippo has a master's degree in health education from Adelphi and a bachelor's degree in physical education from Long Island University C.W. Post. Within his tenure of coaching, Mr. San Filippo has coached both girls' & boys' soccer, boys’ & girls’ track and field and college men's soccer at SUNY Old Westbury. Mr. San Filippo resides in Massapequa with his wife Kristen, daughter Charlette and family dog Marshmallow.

Mrs. Jamianne Pullan

Jamianne Pullan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Adolescent Education in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from LIU Post and a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Touro College. In 2013, Mrs. Pullan first joined the Carle Place School District as a teacher in both math and science. She taught various courses including Geometry, Physics and Computer Science. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Pullan was an active member of the school community. She held several advisory positions and participated in various shared decision making experiences districtwide.


In 2019, Mrs. Pullan received her advanced graduate certificate in Educational Leadership from Stony Brook University. In 2021, Mrs. Pullan left Carle Place to become the Chairperson of Mathematics at New Hyde Park Memorial MS/HS for the Sewanhaka Central High School District. While at New Hyde Park, Mrs. Pullan gained tremendous experience. She was a member of the district design team, participated in a Portrait of a Graduate and collaboratively worked with students and teachers to enhance learning experiences districtwide.

Mrs. Pullan is passionate about 21st century education. She believes that all students should have access to a rigorous and engaging STEM education so that students can build a strong foundation that will enable them to be successful in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Business. Mrs. Pullan is very excited to be back in Carle Place and looks forward to working with students, staff and the community to further support all aspects of STEM.
