Carle Place cheers on girls field hockey and boys soccer teams with a morning filled with school spirit

On Nov. 15, the Carle Place school community united to celebrate and send off the girls field hockey and boys soccer teams as they began their journey to the state finals and semifinals.

The day started with a breakfast for the athletes, their families and friends. Parents wished their children good luck before they boarded the buses in front of the high school.

The morning included special visits from Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Nassau County Legislator John Giuffré, who offered their congratulations and best wishes to the teams.

The cheerleaders and marching band ensured the morning was filled with school spirit and camaraderie. The band students lined the hallways, playing lively music as the athletes walked by. Outside, the cheerleaders continued the celebration with words of encouragement and cheers for the teams.

After the teams boarded the buses, the Carle Place Fire Department escorted them with flashing lights and sirens, their truck specially decorated for the Frogs.

In the competition, the girls field hockey team faced a tough loss and fell 4-0 to Whitney Point in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the boys soccer team defeated Rye Neck 3-2 in the semifinals and became state champions with a 1-0 victory over West Hill.

Congratulations to both teams on their hard work and achievement and thank you to all who made the sendoff a success.
