Carle Place High School Spanish 4 and AP Spanish classes traded textbooks for tapas and castanets on a recent field trip to the New York Center for Flamenco Performing Arts in New York City.

The students of Jillian Kelly embarked on a whirlwind exploration of Spanish culture, immersing themselves in the rich history of flamenco on April 17. Their cultural immersion continued with a feast for the senses, a taste of traditional Spanish cuisine followed by a captivating flamenco performance.

A highlight of the day, students were invited to put on their dancing shoes and learn the flamenco alongside world-renowned flamenco dancers.
